This is a pony I met in Vienna when I visited there last February, 2010. She was with a man who was asking for donations (known in the U.S. as a panhandler). “Bitte helfen” = please help. It was in the middle of a cold snap across most of Europe; there was a rare break in the constantly falling snow when I took this picture. Everything seems special in Vienna, even the panhandlers and their ponies.
