On Having No Voice

Here’s a silly little poem inspired by my current lack of vocal capacity, brought on by either allergies, a cold, exposure to construction dust, or some infernal combination of them all.

The Japanese garden at CWU, a nice place to be quiet.

On Having No Voice

How many times do we say

We don’t know what to say

The words simply don’t appear

How many times do we say

We wish we could say

Something that would make it all better

How many times do we say

I’m just babbling here

I’m searching for words that mean something

How many times do we say

I love you

I love you

I love you

How many times do we say

We don’t know what to say

When all we need to say is

I love you
