“closed forever.”

Looking through some photos I took in New Orleans last week… This sign is on a crypt in St. Louis Cemetery Number One, in the French Quarter in New Orleans, LA. It opened in 1789. Cemeteries in New Orleans are above ground, because much of the city is under sea level. They are sometimes referred to as “cities of the dead.”

And the little poem is this week’s Project Create.

"closed forever"

It’s closed forever

Like a door, a window, a heart

When no light comes in.
