You never know

Daffodils... a sign of spring, and new beginnings.

Today I sent a “yes” to the universe… and to a publisher who offered me a contract to publish Novel Number One, aka Completely Absurd and Nearly Impossible.

I started writing this book in January of 2008. Mainly because I didn’t want to spend MLK Jr weekend shopping the sales. A dear friend inspired the central moment of the story, and it took off from there. It’s over four years later, countless hours of writing and revising, and more countless hours of believing this story would only ever be read by me.

The work I’ve done since then is all a result of getting this first one done. I don’t know if it will find a real audience or if it will be one of the thousands of novels that languish. I am not sure, right now, that I care. What means the most is that one other person read it, and thinks it is worth trying to get other people to read it. That’s amazing, and I am deeply grateful.

You just never know what will happen when you say “yes.”
