To be full of thanks

Do you think it is a coincidence that we eat ourselves silly on the holiday devoted to gratitude? Or perhaps, as we strive to be full of thanks, we decide to settle for being full of mashed potatoes. (I’m not complaining. I love mashed potatoes, and mine are simmering on my stove as I write this.)

My wish is that we feel the fullness created by gratitude every day. Because when we are full of thanks, we have no room for fear, hatred, bias, violence, envy, or greed.

Be with the people, animals, books, trees, rivers, seas, snows, and/or sunshine you adore today. Eat the food you love, and share the feeling of being thank-full.

Thankful to have found a home in this gorgeous valley.
